Happy Last Friday CECC Families!

Today is our last Friday of school and while our staff are getting ready to start a much deserved break from school, they have expressed how much they will miss their students and that this is a school year none of them will forget!

We have learned so much this year. Things were very difficult and at times anxiety inducing, but there was also a lot of good that has come from this school year during a pandemic. Many of us have come to realize what is truly important in life, and not to sweat the small stuff. Thank you for your collaboration and support of our program this year ... you will not be forgotten!

This is our last family message for the school year, but you can always reach me at [email protected] Take care and have a wonderful and enjoyable summer! Below are our last updates for you:

End of the Year Parade!!

On Monday, May 24th, CECC will be having a “reverse” parade where families may come to the circle drive off the Randolph St. entrance (where the buses pull in) to say goodbye to staff for the summer. This will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and will be passing out candy, books, and other special treats for our students! We hope to see you and your family there!!

What Will Next School Year Look Like?

Recently Dr. Zola sent out a message to families regarding the elimination of a remote learning option for students, per a recent Illinois State Board of Education resolution. Some students may qualify for homebound instruction if they have a diagnosed medical condition that means they would be at risk to attend school in person. If you believe your child qualifies, please contact our office. Therefore, the ultimate plan is for school to be as normal as possible and we anticipate that we will enroll students to our capacity of 16 per class section.

Required School Physicals

All students are required to have a school physical on file with our office. Call your provider to schedule your student’s appointment. Students who have not completed a school physical by September 1 will be excluded from attending school until all required examinations and vaccinations have been completed.

All entering Kindergarten, 6th grade and 9th grade students are required to have proof of a physical and required immunizations. Students entering 12th grade have a vaccine requirement only. Appointment cards will not be accepted as proof of physical and immunizations. Please see the flyer below for information about getting a physical for your child.
